The NCC is a voluntary organization which is administered through the Ministry of Defence. The Defence Secretary is overall in charge, who is responsible to the Govt. of India for efficient functioning of the NCC and other matters. At the Headquarters level, this organization is headed by an officer of the rank of Lieutenant General who is responsible for the functioning of the NCC in the country. Good and structured training is an essential part of any organization like NCC and hence it is given due importance. A tremendous amount has been achieved by the corps through its well regulated system of intensive training which includes Basic, Advance and Specialized training, with major stress being laid on training camps. Training activities of NCC can be broadly classified as Institutional Training, Camp Training, Attachment Training. The Types of Camps are Leadership Camps (Basic and Advance), Thal Sainik Camp (TSC), Rock Climbing Camp, National Integration , Camps (NIC) , RDC and PM s Rally, Annual Training Camps (ATC), Adventure Training and Sports Camps. NCC as an organization has unified the youth, not only of our country, but has made significant efforts to interact with the youths of other country through YEPs, thus expanding the scope of its training and the ultimate goal of Unity. In St. Johns College, Agra there are 53 vacancies in Army Wing (Infantry wing). Lt. (Dr.) Dinesh Lal, Associate professor, Department of Zoology and Entomology, is the Associate NCC Officer in Army Wing (Infantry wing) of this college.

A Trekking cum Nature Study Camp was held at Sheetlakhet from 23rd October to 27th October, 2016. 48 Rovers and Rangers from St. John\'s College participated in it. We were the largest group among the participants.

Student Christian Movement



The Student Christian Movement of India (SCMI) is a students\' movement with Christian ethos which maintains a fellowship of students, teachers and senior friends with commitments to translate Christian Faith into action through contemporizing faith in Jesus Christ by discerning critically the signs of times. Spread across 13 geographical regions, SCMI over the years has been inspiring several students across generations, regions and languages to participate in transforming the Church and society, has been nurturing the values of ecumenism, unity, peace & justice and has been in the mission of shaping young leaders with integrity and commitment. SCMI encourages inclusive partnership of all church traditions, people of all faiths, and varied social, economic and political expressions including other youth ecumenical organizations like YWCA, YMCA, AICUF etc. It is affiliated to the World Student Christian Federation (WSCF), a student federation of several SCMs across the globe for mutual solidarity and networking. SCMI St. John\'s College Unit, Agra invites you to a wide scope of experiences through fellowship, group dynamics, and live-in experiences with marginalized communities; we offer you a wide range of learning through Biblical reflection, social analysis and cultural action.
